Consent to Settle
Some professional liability policies allow that the insurer to settle a claim without
consent from the insured. Some policies allow the insured to reject a proposed
settlement by the insurer.
Settlements can negatively impact the reputation of an insured so this type of clause
is often an important factor in an insureds decision when purchasing professional
liability insurace.
